Privacy Policy
This page explains what information CAB Carpentry collects through cabcarpentry.com, how we use it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
CAB Carpentry is a carpentry company in Tyler, Texas. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean CAB Carpentry, and "you" means anyone who visits our website.
You can reach us by:
- Email: caleb@cabcarpentry.com
- Phone: (903) 262-9790
Frontend Horizon builds and runs this website and the system that receives the requests you send us. It handles your information only on our behalf.
What you give us
You give us personal information only when you fill in one of the two forms on our website.
The "Send a Message" form
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number, if you add it
- The type of project, if you choose one
- Your message
The project estimator
The estimator on our home page asks a few questions to build a price range, then asks how to reach you. It sends us:
- Whether you are asking for a business or for yourself, and which description fits you best
- The services you want, the work you picked and the sizes you entered (for example, square footage)
- The estimate range the tool showed you
- Your budget and timeline
- Your name, email address and phone number
What is recorded with a request
When you send either form, the request also records:
- The page the form was on, and which form you used
- The page you arrived on from another website, a search or a campaign link, when you arrived, and the website that sent you
- Campaign tags in the link you followed (UTM tags) and ad click ids from Google, Meta or Microsoft ads
- Your device type (phone, tablet or desktop), your browser's language and your time zone
- Your browser's user agent (the browser and operating system it reports)
- Your IP address
- The country your IP address points to, which Frontend Horizon looks up on its own server with DB-IP's free database to help filter spam
- Your Google Analytics id, if your browser has a Google Analytics cookie (see "Cookies and analytics")
The arrival details describe your most recent visit that came from another website, a search or a campaign link, or your first visit if none did. Coming back later by typing our address does not change them.
Our lead system also keeps its own record of each request: your answers, the page address, your IP address and user agent, an automatic score (see below), and whether the request was marked as spam. The lead system itself sends no email.
How we use your information
- To answer you. We use your request to reply, prepare an estimate, schedule and do the work.
- To confirm we have it. If you give us your email address, we may send you a short confirmation that we received your request; replies go to CAB Carpentry. We get an email with your request from Frontend Horizon's content system, the system that runs our website.
- To keep spam out. Automatic checks look at each request (for example, its wording and how quickly the form was filled in) and can mark it as spam. A request that Frontend Horizon's content system marks as spam is still stored, but no one gets an email about it. Our lead system also runs its own checks, and we can set filters there that put some requests aside; those only mark the request in the lead system's record, and we still get the email. A repeated request is emailed like any other.
- To decide what to answer first. The email we get about your request may include an automatic priority grade worked out from your answers; the grade is not stored. Our lead system also gives each request an automatic score from what you tell us: which form you used, the kind of project and client, your budget and timeline, how much detail you give, and whether you left a phone number.
- To learn what works. We look at which pages, searches and ad campaigns bring us requests.
We do not sell your information.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website: the pages they view, how they arrived, clicks on our phone number and email address, when a form is sent, and how quickly pages load. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with `_ga` to recognise repeat visits.
Elevi
We also use Elevi, Frontend Horizon's own analytics tool, to see how visitors use this site: the pages you view, where you click and scroll, which forms you start, how fast pages load, errors, and the ad or website that brought you here. It keeps a random ID in your browser to connect your visits. Elevi is off when you turn analytics off under Cookie preferences or your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
Our own visit log
Our website also keeps a simple visit log for us, run by Frontend Horizon. It saves a random visitor id and a session id (which changes after 30 minutes without activity) in your browser's local storage. With them, it records each page you view (its address and title, the page you came from, your device type and window size) and the links and buttons you click. It does not record your IP address.
Where you came from
So that a later request can show which ad or website brought you to us, your browser keeps your arrival details (listed under "What is recorded with a request") in local storage for up to 90 days. If you have turned analytics off, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, new arrival details are kept only until you close the tab.
The site also keeps the campaign tags and first page of your visit in session storage, which your browser clears when you close the tab. Nothing is sent to us from there.
Your choices
- Analytics is on by default. The "Cookie preferences" link in our website's footer lets you turn it off, or back on, at any time. We remember your choice in a cookie named `cookie_consent` for 180 days.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics starts off.
- If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics starts off and sets no cookies unless you allow it. Elevi, our own visit log and the arrival details cannot tell where you are, so for you they run until you turn analytics off.
- When analytics is off, Google Analytics sets no cookies and receives only basic signals that carry no cookie id, Elevi and our visit log send nothing, and new arrival details are kept only for the tab.
- Turning analytics off does not delete what your browser already holds. Our visit log's id stays but is no longer sent, and Elevi's ID may also stay. A Google Analytics cookie or arrival details saved earlier stay too, and are still included with a request you send. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Who receives your information
We share your information only with the service providers that run our website for us:
- Frontend Horizon builds and runs our website, its content system and our lead system. Its content system stores each request and emails it to us. Frontend Horizon also keeps the lead system's records and our visit log, and receives a copy of each request by email.
- Supabase hosts the databases where those records are kept.
- Resend delivers the emails the content system sends about your request: ours, Frontend Horizon's copy and, if we send one, your confirmation.
- Google provides Google Analytics.
How long we keep it
We keep your request and the records about it for as long as we need them to respond to you and for our business records.
In your browser, your cookie choice lasts 180 days, the arrival details up to 90 days, and our visit log's id until you clear your browser's data for this site.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing caleb@cabcarpentry.com or calling (903) 262-9790. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights. You can turn analytics off at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in our website's footer.
Security
We and our service providers use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no website or email system is completely secure.
Children
Our website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
